Master Key Experience v2 — Week 6

What is the effect of electricity? It depends on the device to which it’s attached. What is the effect of mental power? It depends on where it’s focused.

The man who looks within instead of without cannot fail to make use of the mighty forces which eventually determine his course and bring him into vibration with that which is most desirable … Attention or concentration is the most important essential in the development of mind culture and the possibilities of attention are so startling that they would hardly seem credible … The power of attention can be more readily understood by comparing it with a magnifying glass in which the rays of the sun are focused …

Haanel — paraphrased

I have been very aware this week of how easily my attention moves from the calm of the world within toward the chaos of the one without. Sadly, even though I try to avoid paying attention, it’s hard to ignore the chaos. It makes too damn much noise. Elections, COVID, riots, anger, and hatred. All this in addition to a handful of very difficult things to happen in my family since February.

Ultimately, there is little I can do to change or control any of these things, but still, it causes my magnifying glass to move here and there. As a result, the rays of my faith, intent, and power are not focused where they belong.

The only way to keep my attention where it belongs is through practice. Practice makes perfect in everything.

I continue to practice. Each time I find my attention shift from the internal to the external, I must bring it back. That, and keep in mind that the process requires patience.

Individual development, like Universal development, must be gradual with an ever-increasing capacity and volume.

Gradual is the operative word.

Maybe that’s another use for my little magnifying glass — to see the small steps I make forward.

  1. Yes, utilizing that magnifying glass and focusing on all those small positive steps is something I have observed I have discounted. CELEBRATE and be Grateful for ALL things! Thanks, Randy! Always a treat!

  2. “Gradual is the operative word”
Slow and steady, practice and focus … build the laser focus over time!
Thanks Randy, always points to ponder from your observations.
