In general, simple pictures are best. The hands are enough to indicate a doctor is attached to them, and as he gently lifts the chin, other elements make it clear an examination of the throat is underway.

Forty years later, I have no memory of the story behind the picture and haven’t much to say, other than I’ve always liked it.

I guess if I’m writing about simplicity and photographs, the blog post should be simple too.
